Apple has outlined its new features of its latest mobile operating system, OS 4 for the iPhone, iPod touch and iPad. The OS 4 beta software development kit (SDK) is now available for the developers at Apple’s iPhone Developer website. Apple advised the consumers not to put it on their personal device rather keep it on testing devices as it is the first beta.
“iPhone OS 4 is the fourth major release of the world’s most advanced mobile operating system,” said Steve Jobs, Apple’s CEO. “We’re delivering over 100 new features, including multitasking, folders, a unified inbox, deeper Enterprise support, and an iPhone version of our iBooks reader and online iBookstore.”
The iPhone OS 4.0 SDK includes 1,500 new Applications Programming Interfaces (APIs) and over 100 new features. New features comprise of Multitasking for third party apps, Folders for better organizing and accessing apps, improved mail with a unified inbox, fast inbox switching and threaded messages, enhanced Enterprise support, mobile device management, wireless app distribution, iBooks and a lot more.

I find that the iPhone is fantastic with all these little apps, being able to do pretty much everything on the move is fantastic. You can attend to pretty much anything, anywhere, anytime! The future has arrived and I love it!
